30th Birthday - A Mother's Love Poem
Richie…………………..
You may think it awkward and squirm in your seat,
But indulge me this moment before you retreat;
I thought it quite fitting now that you’re thirty,
To express how I feel and try not to be wordy;
Parents often remark thru laughter and tears,
How time has flown by, where are the lost years?
Not long ago, it certainly seems,
I realized one lifelong dream;
On March 24, 1978,
You were finally born, a mere 3 weeks late;
The term’s often used, that a baby boy bounces,
At your size even, all 10 pounds and 12 ounces;
As G-d is my witness, I tell you no lie,
The second I saw you, I started to cry;
I stared and I stared at the beautiful vision,
Of my newborn son, what a thankful addition!
I unwrapped your blanket, kissed your fingers and
toes,
I kissed you all over, chin, eyes and nose;
Long lashes to find in an infant so rare,
But not as unique as that cowlick of hair;
Your baby soft skin, so sweet and so fine,
As I held you too close, I kept shouting, “you’re
mine!”
I literally felt a physical rush,
At this beautiful boy for whom I would gush;
Unconditional love and maternal protection,
I vowed to you upon our connection;
I was your puppet and you pulled the string,
The love of my life, you ruled as my king;
As you physically grew, so did my love,
And I offered my thanks to the heavens above;
Whether agreeing, disputing, near or apart,
I love you and your brother, from the core of my
heart;
One day you’ll stop laughing and then understand,
As you reach out to grab your own little hand;
That sometimes a parent does crazy things,
That stems from a love, a child only brings;
My wish for you is to cherish the joy,
Of one day having your own girl or boy;
Remember, that love for a child’s like none other,
Once you’re a dad, or in my case, your mother!
TO MY FIRSTBORN SON, HAPPY 30TH AGAIN AND AGAIN
AND AGAIN!!!

Corporate Function - Summer Picnic 2003
On September 6th we’re happy to say,
An old fashioned picnic is coming your way;
Paramount is host and admission is free,
To all of the members of their family;
Co-workers are asked to have fun, mix &
mingle,
It matters not, whether married or single;
Half Day Woods is the site where you’re asked to
drive,
In Vernon Hills from 11:00 to 5:00;
As another summer loses its steam,
We hang on tightly to our “beach” theme;
Whatever your age, there will be plenty to do,
Like sports and games, just to name a mere two;
A DJ, mini golf and a painter of faces,
Along with the Moonwalk and softball and races;
Grab hold of your beach gear, come ready to eat,
There will be quite a spread, including a treat;
On the menu for instance, the chicken is billed,
One of two ways; barbecue or just grilled;
Hot dogs and burgers and salads and chips,
Cookies, chilled melon and cold drinks for parched
lips;
The treat that we mentioned, how would it seem,
For a day in the sun, without some ice cream?
So, come out for the day and join in the crowd,
Get to act like a kid, and laugh right out loud;
We’re sending this notice, you must decide soon,
Our count must be in by this afternoon;
How many grownups and kids will we see?
Please email Lauren to RSVP.

Marriage Toast - Bride's Mother
Pardon my need to grab for the tissues,
but soon you will hear, I have real issues;
Nearly 24 years since that day in July,
When you entered my life with that great sounding cry;
I kissed you all over, nose, eyes and chin,
My first born child, my Jennifer Lynn;
It must be a dream, how can it be true?
When I still think of you as that toddler of two;
That sweet little girl; the one that I carried,
Has found her prince charming and is set to be married;
You were the first who made me a mom,
we kept sharing firsts, like dating and prom;
Filled with compassion; your heart on your sleeve,
A simple fly swat would cause you to grieve;
An animal lover and companion to "Blue,"
whose just as lucky to be loved by you;
You were mommy's big helper, for your brother and sis,
Protecting, or playing or planting a kiss;
You're a lovely young woman, whose made me so proud,
You're respectful, refined, softspoken, not loud;
We've always been close and that will remain,
I'm bursting with joy that's so hard to contain;
Now, it's Mike's turn, already my son,
Two lives now separate, soon become one;
No better twosome has tested fate,
It's as clear as a mirror, you found your soulmate;
My heart can't express what I feel for you two,
I know that your bond will carry you through;
A life filled with happiness, joy and much laughter;
no sadness or tears from hereon and after;
On my love and support you can always depend,
More than your mom, I'm also your friend!!
G'd bless and keep you for a wonderful life,
To Mike and Jen - as husband and wife!

Tribute - In Loving Memory of My Grandma
An Angel from Heaven, looks down from above,
Watching over her family with guidance and love;
She was my grandma, a woman so caring,
Whatever was hers, she didn’t mind sharing;
She grew up in a time when hard work was ingrained,
When values were taught and no one complained;
Always concerned for her sisters and brothers,
She opened her heart to make room for others;
When folks sometimes worried or got carried away,
She was the “calm in the storm” who made things
okay;
To offer some wisdom, or just lend an ear,
She was the “rock” of her home, the home she held
dear;
How good it would smell when you opened the door,
To grandma’s great cooking, need we say more?
Raising her family was a source of great pride,
but we mustn’t forget another talent inside;
She had an ability, a natural flair,
to create pieces of art, for which none can
compare;
Her sketches so lovely, they move you to feel,
Each detail so fine, you would swear they were
real;
I miss her so much and wish she could see,
how much of her legacy remains within me;
I’ll do all that I can, as my children grow,
To share some of grandma, so they too, will know;
My inspiration to get through each day,
was a wonderful lady; grandma Rosemary Fay.

Wedding Anniversary
A couple came together back in 1967
So perfect for each other, it was a match made in
heaven;
Wendy soon agreed to become Paul’s loving wife
And together they’d create a great, enduring life;
They promised one another a life of wedded bliss -
And on August 27th, they sealed it with a kiss;
Both extremely bright and definitely ambitious
They set forth in pursuing a list of their life
wishes;
Though different personalities, each has different
talents
Together they are powerful, and are each other’s
balance;
They worked hard to build a business and still
work to keep it strong
It’s fun when they’re together, to see them get
along;
When they tell a story, during before or after
There’s abundance of a sound so sweet and that’s
contagious laughter;
They don’t take life for granted, they clearly
know the score
Most important in their lives are the children
they adore;
A new title they just acquired, one they wear so
proudly
Given by their new grandchild, when she presented
loudly;
Precious little Avery is the apple of their eye
So loved by all her family, it makes you want to
cry;
The years have flown and yet they still help each
other thrive
Congrats to a great duo and here’s to the next
35!!!!

Newborn - Noah’s Song
On December 31, 2001
Our lives changed forever with the birth of a son;
And isn’t it funny? It must have been fate
That grandma Delia has the same birth date;
Just over 7 pounds and 21 inches
He is so cute, his face begs for pinches;
He entered the world so happy and smiley
We picked the name Noah and paired it with Riley;
Mom Aiza’s ecstatic, Dad Gordon so proud
It was shortly thereafter the parents had vowed;
To encourage his dreams and never say never
For this is the boy who changed our lives forever.
